“ We were so happy do discover this gem in silverlake! Beautiful decore and ambiance inside and out and great service. Best part was the elegant amd ecclectic wine list including happy hour wines! ”
“ A good friend of mine suggested we meet here for a long overdue gettogether. My first time here was pleasantly surprised that they allowed dogs inside the establishment. My friend had his dog and there were other patrons with their pet dogs as well. This is a really interesting and not to mention historical landmark. The Black Cat is known to be the site of the first documented LGBT civil rights demonstration in the nation held on February 11, 1967 which was declared by the city of Los Angeles in 2008 by the cultural heritage commission. We were greeted by a friendly and extremely accommodating host to our table She gave water to dogs outside due to the hot weather good job! Started off with a round of drinks which is highly recommended. Our server Mikey was also friendly and extremely accommodating. They were playing some really cool Indie music that was quite the treat as well. Our food was amazing and delicious. As shown in the photos. The restaurant is clean, organized, and their service was above and beyond. Me and my party were very happy to have come here. My wife I were the only ones who paid our visit for the very first time. So like I do when the credit is due...The Black Cat gets 5 s up, down, all around. Thank you entire staff at the Black Cat, we will definitely be back for more! ”
“ Beautifully decorated and lightly dimmed dinning room with exceptional service. The food and cocktail menu offer tasty and reasonable priced options. I especially fell in love with their french onion fonduta! Delicious! ”
“ The Black Cat is another one of my locals. The service is fast and good. The food is delicious! The muscles are my favorite thing on the menu the parfait is decadent and the snacks are addictive. Lennon was our server at the bar he was fun, knowledgeable, friendly and talented at making cocktails. The interior design is stunning and cool at the same time. The atmosphere is upscale but casual. This space was one of the original gay bars in Los AngelesSilver Lake and was at the forefront of gay activism. Open to everyone. Great for a date night or fun out with friends! A must try on the east side. ”
“ Old school vibe and tucked into a busy corner of Silver Lake. Parking was a challenge but I found a spot out front after circling the block a few times. Staff was very accommodating. Didnt have a chance to eat or drink here, went for Trans Day of Visibility to hear the Trans Chorus of LA and a panel of speakers in the back room, which was packed. This place has a solid history in the LGBTQ movement and the owners are very supportive and inclusive. There was a wonderful photo exhibit that featured trans people from around the country, very emotional and bonding experience. Thanks to those who made it happen and all who came. ”
“ Really amazing tacos, burritos and quesadillas. Tortillas made with lard! So they are super flavourful and pliable. Definitely not dry storebought tortillas! ”
“ This Iconic location was one of the first spots in LA where protest erupted in the LGBTQ community and allies who fought for human dignity and freedom of all people. And I am pleased to see that the current owners are still supported allies of our community. Since covid , the stonewall democratic club is not hosted a general membership meeting in person. Last night we came back to where it began and we are here now once again to put up the fight. They have a wonderful meeting room and the food is excellent. We had pizza. And wings which sounds very casual but this was really a step up. Alexander was wonderful to work with to get set up for our event which featured Councilmembers Heather Hutt and Nithya Raman true defenders of the peoples rights. We were also pleased to have Senator Caroline Menjivar with us to fill us in on how our State Senators are fight for us to keep us safe while the people in DC try to destroy us. During these times its important to uplift the people who want freedom and democracy for everyone without exception. Great restaurant great community leaders and business owners. You can feel very proud supporting the Black Cat! ”
“ This spot we chose for our incredible Saint Valentines Date what a success! The host was kind and fun and accommodating upon our entrance. Our server Will was so very nice and helped us both choose what we needed to order. The cocktails are a bit on the baby sized but are strong and pack a punch! The amazing Will described a great wine from the Georgian region and it was impeccable. We suggest you order the steak frites and the french onion appetizer with a chocolate souffle to finish. We will be back and enjoy soon thank you Will Black Cat! We had the best time. ”
